Arbor Day Celebration Returns to Woodland Park. Kalispell, MT – On Friday, April 28, the City of Kalispell will host Arbor Day in Woodland Park for all third graders from School District 5. The theme “Throw Some Shade!” will guide the day’s activities, including environmental education booths, park beautification, tree planting and an Arbor Day ceremony. The event begins at 9:05 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. Community members are invited to attend for the formal Arbor Day ceremony and tree planting beginning at 9:20 a.m.

Our Arbor Day event features Madison’s school children reciting original poetry, singing, playing musical instruments. First graders perform a traditional May Pole dance. The mayor reads his Arbor Day proclamation and receives the Tree City USA flag. We distribute tree seedlings and other tree information.

Planned activities include free tree seedlings, birdhouse and bee house building and free flower pots and seeds (all while supplies last), a visit by Smokey the Bear and the Emerald Ash Borer, raffle drawing for free trees, make your own wood medallions, tree and landscaping information from Master Gardeners, tree care advisors and professional landscape designer, buckthorn removal information, live tree display of uncommon and unusual trees. 12:00 Display of live animals from the Reptile and Amphibian Zoo. 1:30 Presentation by the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.

Foley’s Revitalization and Beautification Advisory Board invites the community to the City’s 42 Annual Celebration of Arbor Day. The Alabama Forestry Commission, Baldwin County Master Gardeners and Certified Arborists will be on hand to answer any questions you have about trees. Boy Scout Troop 77 will help with the distribution of trees. The Winning Arbor Day Posters will be on display. There will be an assortment of trees in 3 gallon containers. We will present 2 Century Tree Plaques and 3 Memorial Trees will be planted for 3 Special People who made our City a better place to live.
